On this page I’ll provide a short description of what Geopathic Stress (GS) is and highlight some of the ways that GS may appear around you. It’s been suggested that if a child is exposed to Geopathic Stress at an early age, they are more likely to gravitate to towards spaces that are effected by GS in the future, ie. homes and places where they work or study. There is something within their natural awareness that almost feels ‘comfortable’ or ‘familiar’.
Geopathic Stress occurs when the earth’s vibrations become out of alignment to the health and wellbeing of living beings. These natural vibrations are effected and become distorted by a variety of different things like the energy from underground streams, fault lines and electromagnetic fields (EMFs).
There is a great deal of evidence to suggest that GS can lower the immune function in many living beings. When you are repeatedly exposed to GS it can therefore lead to an increase in serious illness. It tends to have the most detrimental effect if it appears in places where you spend a large proportion of time – like the bed where you sleep or a desk where you work. During sleep the body carries out its healing work, but if this is interfered with by GS then the immune system may become weak and you may not be able to absorb vital nutrients from your diet.
The most common symptoms you might experience with GS are a general feeling of being tired or run down, feeling ‘foggy’ in your head, general nervousness and anxiety, depression, insomnia, restless sleep, feeling cold, experiencing cramps and tingling in the arms and legs, sleep walking, grinding teeth and nightmares.
Many researchers have identified that continual exposure to GS can lead to an increased risk of developing cancer, M.S., M.E., Asthma, Alzheimer’s, Epilepsy, Bipolar Disorder, P.M.S., Autism, P.T.S.D., mental health problems, relationship issues and problems with fertility. It’s also linked to some allergies. Some believe it may contribute to an increase in the risk of miscarriage, premature birth, and the incidence of still birth and cot death. Babies can be born with birth defects, they may cry more than you would normally expect and some children can develop problems with their behaviour and become extremely restless.
GS tends to be stronger at night, during heavy rain or stormy weather and when the moon is at its fullest. Many animals and pets can be affected by the experience of GS. Cats seem to love being near areas that are effected but dogs and horses can be effected by GS in the same way that humans can. Out in nature many trees can become stunted and will grow away from lines of Geopathic Stress, appearing at an angle rather than growing straight up.
Our ancestors from the past would likely have been able to maintain a strong connection to nature and to the land where they chose to live. Many tribes would have ‘tuned in’ to the essence of a space before considering whether to build a home upon it. They would have intuitively felt which space felt the safest and would offer the most protection.
Geopathic Stress has become much stronger over the years and this may be due to a weaker ozone layer protecting the earth.
Fortunately, many of the symptoms can be resolved by becoming more aware and then sleeping/working/spending time in a space that is free from GS. GS can be detected by dowsing either directly in the space effected or at a distance. Some tools can be used to help correct the GS or reduce its effects, and recommendations may be made to sleep/work/spend time in other parts of a space that are not effected by GS.
My interest in GS developed when I lived, for a period of seven months, in a house that was seriously effected by fault lines in the earth. You can read about that account on this website. I connected with the amazing work of Rolph Gordon, who wrote the book ‘Are you Sleeping in a Safe Place?’ and had experience of working with thousands of clients who turned to him for help. I also became interested in the work of scientist Kathe Bachler who carried out trials in schools back in the 1970s and discovered that using a rotational seating system in classrooms lowered anxiety levels in students and helped them to feel more at ease in educational settings. I would very much like to continue this work and publish my findings.
